Rabhar Stupa in Bihar
Rambhar Stupa is situated in the state of Bihar and it is the most popular historical monument in India which is considered as the most sacred shrine of Buddhism in the world. It also resembles a religious symbol to Buddhist pilgrims for the large stupa was built to mark the death of Lord Buddha who was cremated here. This place is also called as Mukut-Bandhan Vihar according to a old Buddhist manuscripts.
Rambhar Stupa
Rambhar Stupa is one of the highest stupas in India with an height of 50 ft and located at a place that faces the road form Kasia to Deoria which is 1.61 kms away from the Matha-kuar shrine. There is also a pond called Rambhar Jhil which gets dried during every summer.
Hirananda Shatri was the person who discovered this stupa during his expedition in 1910 and it is known to be different stupa in size for the diameter of its upper circular drum is 34.14 mtr and the base is 47.24 mtr. There are many clay seals with Buddhist writings was seen during the excavations to this place and it can be seen now in the museums
Rambhar Stupa can be visited at any time around the year. It is a place which is a must visit for every tourist traveling to India. It is located in the heart of the city and can be reached by hiring a cab or auto from any part of the city.
